This is a useful and helpful article, I think, but I also think we need to be wary of making the step from science (which is a great activity because (1) it is a precursor to engineering (2) it enables us to know what the multiverse we find ourselves in is like (amazing!) (3) it is an enjoyable intellectual endeavour (4) probably a load of other good things) across to scientism (which has a tendency to bully people with science as though it was a kind of replacement dogma for religion).

Particularly if you disallow from science the aspect of wonder, which cosmology particularly evokes, it doesn’t make very good religion, just as religion has never made very good science.
