The public spheres list can be viewed inside from inside the Thortspace App. This shows the most recently edited spheres at the top of the list.

The Public spheres list on the web is at https://thort.space . The list on the web prioritizes spheres that have had descriptions added to them and had YouTube video links appended.

Dear Thortspace Support, I do not see an option to actually lift thorts for a 3rd party person that will view my map once it is published. Is there a way to create lifted thorts once it is published and clicked by the viewer?

Thanks for your feedback.

Just as a terminology note, in Thortspace we have been calling presentations “Journeys”, so as to emphasise the idea that you are moving around inside the “thortspace”. Hopefully this is not too much of a cause of confusion?

The Web version of Thortspace (which is at https://thort.space) does not yet support lifting thorts in journeys.

What the web version does instead, as a workaround to this feature being missing, is to zoom in on thorts which in the app are displayed as lifted thorts.

So, for example, if you share a public journey via a URL…

Step 1

Log in to your Thortspace account at https://thort.space and go to your “MyAccount” page (which is here: https://thort.space/overlay/account/details )

Step 2

Enter the name you want to display in the Info box on all your Public Spheres and click/tap the tick (as shown in the graphic below)

Step 3

Enter the website address that you want your name to link to, such as your Twitter feed or other social media or personal website (as shown in the graphic above). In graphic above I have chosen to link to my twitter account.

Alternatively you could link to a “Home Sphere” on thortspace as shown below:

If you want to help make Thortspace better, more than anything, the thing we need help testing is the real-time collaboration.

To test this,
either connect two devices or machines to the same sphere (ie. open the same sphere on all the devices) and go back and forth between them editing and observing the changes propagate from one to the other;
or with a partner at a remote location, do the same thing (observe the changes they are making to the sphere and have them report to you that they can see the changes you are making).

Dear Thortspace Support,
I am currently testing Thortspace and I see there is no support for oriental languages like Chinese (whether Traditional or Simplified), Japanese or Vietnamese (especially the specific diacritics like in “Phở”). Is there a plan to support it in a near future?

Thank you for being in touch.

You can create and edit spheres in Thortspace using your web browser on most desktop and mobile devices without needing to install any App. Just go to https://thort.space

You can use any language at all when entering text, as long as you stick to using the Web Browser version of Thortspace which is here:

https://thort.space/

The Web Browser version of Thortspace does not as yet have the full functionality as the Thortspace App, however you can edit…

Since 6th February 2021, it has been very much easier to subscribe to Thortspace Premium

If you’re happy to have your work in Thortspace be public, you probably don’t need to subscribe to Thortspace Premium — you can just use a Free Thortspace account and get all the benefits of Thortspace cloud service, including unlimited public spheres, for free.

But if you have work that you want to keep confidential, then probably Thortspace Premium or Thortspace Business (ie. Premium for the Organisation) is the way to go.

To upgrade to Thortspace Premium, just go to:

Please could you structure your responses in the following form:

(2) I used Thortspace in such-and-such Y way
[bonus points if you can share a TS sphere or a TS journey as part of Y]

Step 1: Click the Thort.space group you want to link to (eg. from social media).

Step 2: Click “Permalink Group” from the links line at the top of the Thort.space web page.

A new tab will open with the permalink in the URL line.

Step 3: Select and copy the weblink from the URL line in the new browser tab.

To achieve this effect, simply copy a thort.space URL from the address line of your browser, and paste it into the medium article on a new line. Then press return. That’s all there is to it.

You can paste more than one embed into the same medium article … like this:

The URL can be a regular sphere one, or a journey or a pemalink view. Examples:

Sphere URL: https://thort.space/49287003

Many thanks to https://embed.ly/ for enabling Thortspace to be able to do this. And of course, as always, many thanks to John Beshir for his great work.
